As Sheriff, my vision for the Racine County Sheriff’s Office is rooted in a simple principle: public safety works best when it is built on trust, accountability, professionalism, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. The people of Racine County deserve a Sheriff’s Office that protects the community, supports the men and women who serve, and operates with integrity every day. My goals as Sheriff include:

• Keep public safety paramount in all decisions.

• Practice fiscal responsibility by ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, efficiently, and transparently to maintain public trust and confidence.

• Foster a culture of respect and communication by emphasizing active listening, professionalism, and treating every person with dignity, while working toward positive outcomes whenever possible.

• Strengthen partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies to improve public safety, share resources, and identify cost-saving opportunities through collaboration. As it relates to federal agencies, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office will continue to assist in the execution of lawful orders, such as warrants, but will not become an extension of those agencies.

• Define a culture where integrity is non-negotiable, every member of this Office is held to the same high standards, on duty and off, and we hold ourselves accountable.

• Develop engaged leadership by having supervisors regularly work alongside patrol deputies to stay connected to daily operations to understand current challenges and strengthen relationships with frontline staff.

• Prioritize employee wellness by expanding support for the physical and mental health of deputies and correctional officers, reducing the stigma around seeking help, and ensuring every employee has access to the resources they need to thrive throughout their career.

• Improve workforce planning through proactive hiring strategies, including over-hiring when appropriate, to prepare for retirements, reduce staffing shortages, and minimize costly overtime.

  
  

This vision is about more than managing an office; it is about serving Racine County with integrity, accountability, and purpose. By investing in our people, strengthening public safety partnerships, and using taxpayer dollars responsibly, we can build a Sheriff’s Office that is trusted by the community, respected by those who serve and those we serve, and prepared for the challenges ahead.
